What's Going Around is a graphical representation of particular illness/syndromes trending across NorthShore University HealthSystem in Chicago’s northern suburbs that is updated daily. Users can track syndromes such as strep throat and flu-like illness and see where cases are most prevalent. Based on daily patient data collected across our health care system, a geospatial heat map is generated for each syndrome that corresponds to the fraction of patients presenting that are positive (prevalence) for the syndrome of interest at a particular geographic location. Using historical data, the current prevalence can also be equated to an overall High, Medium, or Low for the entire region.

1. Flu-Like Illness (Febrile Respiratory Illness)
2. Strep Throat
3. Whooping Cough (Pertussis)
4. Pediatric Asthma
5. Gastroenteritis
Data displayed is updated daily and requires access to the internet.
This app also includes locations of NorthShore University HealthSystem Hospitals and certain Medical Group Primary Care offices.
